Community Achieves

Linking Students & Families to Opportunities & Resources

Community Achieves is an MNPS school initiative, led by the district's Support Services Department, linking students and families to enrichment opportunities and vital community resources. We work closely with partners and volunteers to provide wrap-around services to our students and families.

Our partners bring their expertise and desire to make all the difference in the lives of children and families by providing support for things such as academics, extra-curricular activities, and working with us to remove any barriers to learning.

Our Efforts are Focused on Four Crucial Pillars of Support

    Bridging Gaps and Connecting Resources

Family Resource Centers are a Tennessee Department of Education program developed in 1993. There are 102 Family Resource Centers across the state in 79 school districts across 65 counties.

Tennessee Family Resource Centers - FRCs - proactively engage with their communities to empower students and families, bridging gaps to ensure they evolve together through connected systems of support unique to each community.

In Metro Nashville Public Schools, eight of our Community Achieves schools are school-based FRCs:

    • Antioch High School
    • Cole Elementary
    • Fall-Hamilton Elementary
    • Glencliff High School
    • Hattie Cotton Elementary
    • Maplewood High School
    • Pearl-Cohn High
    • Tusculum Elementary

    • after-school programs
    • lunch buddies
