Metro Schools ReimaginEd Initiative

Zoning Proposals for Hillsboro, Antioch and Glencliff Clusters

As part of Metro Schools’ ReimaginED initiative, we are working hard to enhance the educational experience for all students by aligning cluster programs and pathways that promote academic success and student engagement.

We’re thrilled to share some proposed changes within the Antioch, Glencliff, and Hillsboro clusters for the 2025-2026 school year, along with several new school developments, that will provide new and exciting opportunities for our students.

We encourage families in these clusters to explore the various proposed changes and resources provided on this page – which include a timeline, maps, frequently asked questions and community meeting dates.

New Percy Priest Elementary Opening in August 2025

With the support of the Mayor and Metro Council, Metro Schools’ is excited that a brand new, state-of-the-art Percy Priest Elementary School will open to students in August 2025. With this project, we will be able to create a more comfortable learning environment for Percy Priest students and increase capacity in the Hillsboro cluster.

What’s Changing?

Julia Green Elementary School
  • MNPS is proposing to move a small portion of the Julia Green zone into Percy Priest. This change would affect approximately 28 students in grades K-5.
  • Current Julia Green students will be offered a grandfathering option.

Antioch Cluster Antioch Cluster rezone map

With the support of the Mayor and Metro Council, we’ve made some significant investments in the Antioch area to create more capacity and a more comfortable learning environment. Among them:

Lakeview Elementary

We are in the process of reconstructing an entirely new Lakeview Elementary to provide modern, state-of-the-art facilities that will better serve our students and the community, scheduled to open in August of 2025.

New Antioch Cluster Elementary

To further address the needs of our expanding population, we’ve also acquired additional land for a brand-new Antioch cluster elementary school. We are currently seeking funding to build the new school which would allow us to accommodate more students in the future.

What’s Changing?

Margaret Allen Middle School

We’re proposing to move Margaret Allen into the Glencliff cluster, creating a more cohesive pathway for students in that area, with elementary students from Fall-Hamilton, Glenview, Napier, and John B. Whitsitt elementaries feeding into the school.

Una Elementary to Apollo Middle

Una Elementary students would transition to Apollo Middle School, which is closer and more convenient for many of our families.

Smith Springs Elementary

Currently, Smith Springs students are split between Apollo and JFK middle schools. Our plan would provide consistency by having all Smith Springs students continue to JFK Middle, allowing them to stay with their classmates through this important transition.

Paragon Mills Renovation/Addition Underway

With the support of the Mayor and Metro Council, we’ve made some significant investments in the Glencliff area to create more capacity and a more comfortable learning environment, most notably the renovation and addition to Paragon Mills Elementary that is scheduled for completion in August 2025.

What’s Changing?

Napier Elementary

We are proposing to move Napier Elementary into the Glencliff cluster, which will allow us to realign the middle school feeder patterns and assign students to a much closer Margaret Allen Middle and Glencliff High School.

Whitsitt Elementary

This proposal is to move a small portion of the Whitsitt Elementary zone near Napier Elementary into the Napier zone.

Margaret Allen Middle

Our proposal is to move Margaret Allen into the Glencliff cluster, bringing the school closer to students in its new zone, with Fall-Hamilton, Glenview, Napier, and John B. Whitsitt feeding into Margaret Allen.

Why These Changes?

These proposed changes are designed to strengthen cluster pathways, align educational opportunities, and support the growth of our MNPS community.

Our goal is to provide clearer, more consistent academic experiences and relieve enrollment while maintaining excellent learning environments for all students. It is important to note that all students who live in areas impacted by rezoning will have the opportunity to remain at their current school of enrollment, with transportation provided by families.

Our goal is to ensure that every MNPS student is known, and this plan will help us achieve that goal.
