“Loved, Capable and Significant” is the mantra of Charlotte Park Elementary School, said Executive Principal Julia Ellmore. It is embedded in their daily routine.

“We begin every morning reminding our peers and ourselves of this. It is seen throughout the day in the way we treat each other as citizens and the visitors that come to Charlotte Park,” Ellmore said.

Charlotte Park embodies MNPS’s Every Student Known mission through its Community Resource Portable, which provides clothing and food to families in need. This past spring, the administrative staff offered tech support for families who were unable to register for Promising Scholars. Charlotte Park students

The west Nashville neighborhood school is home to about 500 students every year. Charlotte Park is the most diverse elementary school in the Hillwood Cluster, with 11 languages represented from Pre-K-4th grade. Eight faculty and support staff members are bilingual.

The school was built in 1960 to accommodate first through sixth grades. Charlotte Park was one of the first schools to use the pod/open space concept. This innovative style of teaching attracted educational professionals from New York and Washington State.

The school mascot is the Panther, and the school colors are green and gray.
