The Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools announces a vacancy in the following position:
Behavior Specialist Department of Exceptional Education
10 months- Grade 10- Base hourly rate $ 18.89

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in special education, guidance and\or counseling, psychology, school administration or other related field. Five (5) years experience specializing in dealing with challenging behaviors in a variety of settings. Knowledge of PBS (Positive Behavior Support) or related field. Skilled in taking and using data to make informed decisions regarding student behaviors. Valid Tennessee’s driver’s license and insured personal vehicle.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to; collaborates with all stakeholders to best serve all students, Support schools that have implemented Positive Behavior Support, Conduct District\School Professional Development, Develop Professional Development presentations, Assist schools in a timely manner with student referrals, assist teachers with classroom management systems that support learning goals and reduce challenging behaviors, assist in development of Functional Behavior Intervention Plan\Behavior Intervention Plan, Data Collection and provide research-based intervention strategies, must be able to work a flexible schedule including after school hours and weekends.
