The Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools announces a vacancy in the following position:

Coordinator of Gifted Services
Twelve Month Position

QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a current State of Tennessee license in special or general education; certification in Administration and Supervision; be able to provide evidence of successful classroom teaching and/or administrative experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Exceptional Education, the coordinator of gifted services is responsible for system wide planning of services for students who are gifted. The Coordinator of Gifted Services will be responsible to address the unique abilities, interests and needs of gifted students through differentiated curricula and instruction, accelerated experiences, and other extension opportunities. Responsibilities also include supervising teachers, managing a budget, promoting the development of a continuum of quality services for gifted and talented students in every school, provide professional development, and communicating with families.
