The Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools announces a vacancy in the following position:
LEAD SPEECH/LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST TEACHER SCHEDULE

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in speech language pathology and be eligible for a Tennessee Department of Education Professional School Service Personnel License with an endorsement in speech and language.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the services coordinator in the supervision and maintenance of the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools’ speech/language department; assign student workloads and assist SLPs in the scheduling of student services within the school; assist the services coordinator in the evaluation of speech/language therapists on an annual basis, mentor and support SLPs, demonstrate a working knowledge of current practices and trends in assessment and service provision related to speech and language therapy in a school-based setting; be responsible for purchasing and maintaining equipment and supplies needed for students and the department; communicate effectively with parents, school administrators, and teachers, and demonstrate a working knowledge of Special Education policies, practices and law; process and problem solve a variety of issues related to speech and language services provision, plan and hold professional development for speech and language therapists; plan and hold monthly staff meetings with speech and language therapists; assist in the interview process and makes recommendations for hiring new speech and language therapists.
