The Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools announces a vacancy in the following position:
School Social Worker Department of Student Services Eleven Month Position Teacher Salary Schedule

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work and licensed by the Tennessee Department of Education in Social Work. Three (3) years of experience working with children in a related field preferred but not required. A valid Tennessee Driver’s License and insured personal vehicle is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Reports to the Coordinator of Cluster Support · Works collaboratively through Cluster Support Teams with other Social Workers, FAYSA (Family and Youth Services Assistant), MSAC (Metro Student Attendance Center), and Court Liaison, local schools, parents, students, principals, and others to reduce student truancy, improve attendance, and assist to remove social barriers that impede learning. · Provides assessments and evaluations of students referred. · Develop and assist in the implementation of plans for interventions with students which may include Crisis Intervention. · May be required to work with the District Crisis Intervention Team. · Coordinate joint conferences with parent/school personnel to integrate new and returning students who may be experiencing social problems. · Clinical counseling of individuals and student groups. · Make home visits. · Work flexible hours which may include after school and weekends. · Collect data and provide activity reports as required. · Write social assessments for student records when indicated. · Maintain service rendered forms on each child served. · May be assigned per requirements of the District’s Rezoning Plan. · All other duties as assigned.
