New Computer Center Opens for Parents

NashvilleThe MNPS Community Career Center’s newest public computer-training lab was unveiled on Saturday, May 23. The lab, which is located in the J. Henry Hale Neighborhood Center, will be used to offer free computer classes to parents of MNPS students. Personal finance and workshop-readiness workshops will also be available.

Nashville Mayor Karl Dean, Congressman Jim Cooper, State Senator Thelma Harper and Metro Councilwoman Erica Gilmore were among the dignitaries that spoke at the opening ceremonies for the computer lab and the neighborhood center. The lab has been officially named the Thomas F. Mumphery Sr. Computer Center, in honor of the longtime John Henry Hale Homes manager. The lab is located at 1433 Jo Johnston Ave., near the corner of 16th Ave. North and Charlotte Ave. Local residents taking a tour of the new computer training center at the J. Henry Hale Neighborhood Center where MNPS Community Career Center will offer free computer classes to parents of MNPS students.
