MCGAVOCK HIGH SCHOOL SPECIAL EDUCATION MAINSTREAM SPECIALIST

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must possess a valid Tennessee teaching license with an endorsement in Special Education. This individual will provide technical assistance to teachers, principals and other school personnel in general and special education issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Special Education Mainstream Specialist will provide instructional support to general education teachers and special education teachers to address academic implementation of various teaching and learning strategies; assist classroom teachers in providing research based instructional strategies in specific content areas to promote student equity as federally mandated by NCLB to support the components of IDEIA; guide teachers in changing instructional strategies to support the needs of students with disabilities.

SALARY: Teacher pay – 10 months
