Reports to the Board
  
Policy Governance boards adopt a set of broad policies based on values, and focusing on end results. These policies direct the Superintendent who acts as chief executive officer. Under this governance model, the Director of Schools is held accountable to district goals by providing scheduled monitoring reports to the Board.

The Metropolitan Nashville Board of Public Education has created a schedule for the Director of Schools to report to the Board on various topics related to operational and student achievement goals.  In addition to monitoring reports, the Board receives reports from the Director of Schools covering various pertinent issues as well as new initiatives.
