Metro Nashville Public Schools recognizes that every child has unique abilities, interests and learning styles. To better serve our students, MNPS has adopted two new plans that, in addition to current district opportunities, will offer more options than ever before to parents as you decide which school is the best fit for your child. But what good are options if you don’t know about them?
MNPS has launched a new campaign, Finding Where You Fit, to address the changes and options offered through the new Student Assignment Plan, the new School Choice Plan, magnet/optional schools, as well as the federal requirement under No Child Left Behind (NCLB) to provide school choices to students attending a High Priority school.

District Reassignment
 As part of the new Student Assignment Plan, several cluster specific zone changes will be made, potentially changing your child's zone school. There are also several district-wide changes that will affect every school. Click here to learn more about reassignment.

NCLB School of Choice
As part of No Child Left Behind, all schools deemed "High Priority" are required to offer students the choice to attend another school in the district that is in "Good Standing." Open Enrollment
Open enrollment has taken the place of special transfers. Students are now eligible to enroll at any school in the district, provided that school has open seating. Open enrollment runs for the entire month of March. Click here for more details. |

Magnet & Optional Schools
As always, students have the option of enrolling in one of nearly 30 magnet, optional, enhanced option or design center schools. Each has a different focus, learning style and interests. Click here to find out which of these schools fits your child best, and how to apply. |
