The Department of Exceptional Education in the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) System provides services for all eligible students between the age of three and the age of twenty-one inclusive. MNPS offers a wide range of services to meet the needs of individual students as determined through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.

For information about services available for children ages 0-3, visit state's Early Intervention System.

Placement in any Exceptional Education Program requires eligibility based on the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA)

20 U.S.C. 1412 (5) (A); 34 C.F.R. 300.550 and/or Tennessee Law T.C.A. 49-10-101 et. seq.
