Cluster Level Participation

Each Cluster Parent Group (CPG) has three representatives, one from each tier (elementary, middle and high school levels) in the cluster (see list below).

Communication is the key role for the CPG. Once a month, representatives meet to share ideas, identify cluster-wide concerns and develop ideas for improving the schools both within the cluster and the district as a whole. CPG representatives share information with other parents and members of the Parents Advisory Council (PAC).

How to start a Cluster Parent Group

The Cluster Parent Group works on issues and concerns such as encouraging schools to work together to smooth students’ transition from elementary to middle to high school. Increased parental coordination among schools results in stronger schools and stronger clusters.

Each Cluster Parent Group selects three representatives and three alternates to the PAC. The cluster representatives communicate their concerns at the PAC meetings and bring back what they learned to their respective clusters.
