The Federal & Categorical Programs Department provides a centralized oversight and administration of all NCLB and categorical grant programs.  We ensure compliance with the legal and fiscal guidelines of NCLB and other categorical grants.  In addition, we are responsible for the State of Tennessee Department of Education NCLB Consolidated Application submission and internal monitoring of all entitlements:  Title I, Improving Academic Achievement for the Disadvantaged; Title II, Part A, Teacher and Principal Training and Recruiting; Title II, Part D, Enhancing Education Through Technology; Title III, Part A, English Language Acquisition, English Language Enhancement and Academic Achievement; Title IV, Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities; Title V, Innovative Programs; and Title X, Education of the Homeless.
